Not long ago, I was deep in the thick of hormone chaos and burnout.
Severe PMDD.
Postnatal depression.

Disordered eating.
Digestive symptoms that wouldn't budge - bloated after everything I ate.
Constantly anxious, exhausted, and overwhelmed.
I was juggling work, motherhood, and a million expectations, all while feeling like a stranger in my own body. I had not a shred of confidence.
No one prepared me for the real toll that hormone imbalances, stress, and depletion can take on a woman.
And I just kept thinking: Why does no one talk about this part?
I felt so alone.
So desperate for someone to hold my hand and say:
“It’s not just in your head. And there is a way through this.”

I’m a BANT-registered Nutritional Therapist and Yoga Teacher.

Functional Testing
Getting to the root cause - not just covering symptoms.
Sometimes, no matter how well you eat, sleep or supplement, you still don’t feel right because the deeper imbalances haven’t been addressed.
That’s where functional testing comes in: it gives us real insights into what’s happening inside your body, so we can create a personalised plan based on facts, not guesswork.
Here’s a breakdown of some of the tests we might explore together:
1. DUTCH Test
(Dried Urine Test for Comprehensive Hormones)
The DUTCH test is the gold standard for mapping out your hormones in incredible detail.
It measures your sex hormones (like oestrogen, progesterone, testosterone) and stress hormones (like cortisol), showing not just how much you have but how your body is using and clearing them.
I might recommend the DUTCH test if you’re struggling with:
PMS, PMDD, painful or irregular periods
PCOS or fertility challenges
Low mood, anxiety, feeling wired and tired
Perimenopause or menopausal symptoms
Unexplained fatigue, bloating, or stubborn weight gain
There’s even an option to map hormone fluctuations across your whole cycle if needed.
2. Comprehensive Stool Testing
(GI EcologiX Stool Profile)
Your gut health affects everything from your skin to your hormones to your mental health.
This advanced stool test looks at your gut bacteria, inflammation markers, infections, digestion and more, giving us a real window into your internal health.
I might suggest a stool test if you’re dealing with:
Bloating, constipation, diarrhoea or IBS symptoms
Acne, eczema, or rosacea
Brain fog, fatigue, anxiety, or mood swings
Food intolerances or autoimmune issues
3. Blood Testing
(MediChecks or similar labs)
Simple blood tests can give powerful insights into your nutrient status, thyroid health, blood sugar balance and more.
I often recommend basic panels to check on things like:
Thyroid function (TSH, T4, T3, thyroid antibodies)
Sex hormones (LH, FSH, oestradiol, progesterone, testosterone)
Iron, ferritin, B12, folate and vitamin D
Blood sugar (fasting glucose, fasting insulin)
These tests are especially helpful if you have symptoms like fatigue, hair loss, low mood, stubborn weight, or irregular cycles.
A Note About Testing
Testing is completely optional.
I work with plenty of women without any testing at all and we can absolutely make incredible progress using symptoms, history and food-first strategies.
If you are curious about testing, I’ll guide you through whether it’s the right choice for you based on your goals, symptoms and budget.
(And you’ll never feel pressured into anything.)
